The Department of Physiology is dedicated to imparting comprehensive knowledge of normal functions of the human body, forming the scientific basis for understanding disease processes and clinical medicine.
To develop strong conceptual understanding of human physiology and its clinical applications among undergraduate medical students.
- Understand normal physiological functions of various organ systems
- Correlate physiological mechanisms with clinical relevance
- Interpret laboratory investigations and basic diagnostic tests
- Develop skills for clinical examination and physiological experiments
- Promote analytical and problem-solving abilities
Theory: General and Systemic Physiology
Practical: Hematology experiments, clinical examination, charts, simulations, demonstrations and interpretation of tests
- Well-equipped physiology laboratories
- Hematology lab and instruments
- Teaching models, charts and audiovisual aids
- Demonstration rooms and clinical skill training facilities
Horizontal and vertical integration with allied and clinical subjects is practiced as per CBME guidelines.
Physiology forms the scientific basis for understanding disease mechanisms and supports all clinical disciplines.
