GMERS Medical College Navsari is an institute managed by Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society and is affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. The nearest airport is Surat Airport which is 50 kms and the nearest railway station is Navsari Railway station which is 10 kms from the college. The campus houses college building, hospital building and residential quarters for the doctors, nursing staff and student's hostel.
Our medical college is spread over lush green area of 30 acre, which houses teaching hospital, Auditorium, Doctor staff quarters, Nursing staff quarters, Resident quarters, Boys' hostel, Girls' hostel, Play ground, and other supportive facilities. Separate hostel accommodation with food for boys and girls is available in the campus. The medical campus is free from ragging activities and fully observes Prevention of Ragging Regulation, 2009. We recognise Ragging as an offence which is completely prohibited and is discouraged.
GMERS Medical College, Navsari is associated with Mahatama Gandhi General Hospital, Navsari a multi specialty hospital is operational since 1964. The same is upgraded to Medical College.
The first batch of 100 MBBS students was admitted in GMERS Medical College, Navsari during academic year 2022-23. Total duration of MBBS course is 4 & 1½ year and Compulsory rotational Internship of 1 year. 1st MBBS is of 14 months duration during which students learn subjects like Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biochemistry and Community Medicine. 2nd MBBS is of 12 months duration with subjects like Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Community Medicine. 3rd MBBS is of 28 months (including 2 months of electives) duration with subjects like Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary Medicine, Psychiatry, Anaesthesiology, Skin & VD, ENT, Radiology and Dentistry. Adequate number of qualified faculty is available to teach these challenging subjects. These scientific subjects are taught by theory lecture, interactive practical, live demonstration etc. The institute is putting every sincere effort to bring out the best of my medical students, for which clinical integrated teaching is planned.
